After owning and running a 140 seat Call Centre in Mauritius for 18 years I was very familiar with Time and Attendance issues, especially when we went to 3 shifts and 24 hour working.
I then setup as the UK Distributor of ‘Visual Planning’ a high end ‘done with you’ planning and scheduling solution, mainly for corporate clients. We focus on Training, Project Management and Manufacturing / Maintenance and clients usually run multiple resources and typically have 50+ staff.
As we looked round the market we saw several ‘trends’, none of which suited us, or our client base. There were ‘high end’ solutions, often with expensive hardware requirements and ‘low end’, where few of the key features we wanted to provide were included.
So, we built our own. We included all the features we wanted, removed the requirement for expensive hardware and managed to combat all the key issues that we saw coming up, over and over again.
Our experience in development, married to our understanding of ‘Time & Attendance’ AND ‘Planning & Scheduling’ put us in a unique position to develop a tool that brought the two sides of the picture together, or to satisfy either on their own.
